RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HIMACHAL PRADESH UNIVERSITY YOUTH FESTIVAL EVENTS

ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES ELIGIBILITY RULES

 

GROUP – II MUSIC:

  1. Classical Vocal (Solo) Hindustani/Karnatak:
    1. Only one entry per Institution is Duration of performance 8 to 10 minutes.
    2. Time for stage instruments setting in maximum 5
    3. Maximum number of accompanists is
    4. Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatk
    5. Cinema songs are not allowed under this
    6. Sufficient thought and care must be exercised in the choice of Raga and
    7. Judgment will be based on the qualities like, tal, selection of raga, composition and general

 

  1. Classical Instrumental Solo (Percussion – Tal Vadya):
    1. Only one entry per Institution is Duration of performance 8 to 10 minutes.
    2. Time for stage instruments setting in maximum 5
    3. Maximum number of accompanists is
    4. Participants must bring their own
    5. Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatk
    6. Judgment will be based on the qualities like, tal, selection of raga, composition and general

 

  1. Classical Instrumental (Solo) Non-Percussion-Swar Vadya:
    1. Only one entry per Institution is Duration of performance 8 to 10 minutes.
    2. Time for stage instruments setting in maximum 5
    3. Maximum number of accompanists is
    4. Participants must bring their own instruments, Casio is not
    5. Instruments of Western origin adapted to the India Raga system are
    6. Item can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatk
    7. Judgment will be based on the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga, composition and general

 

 

  1. Light Vocal (Indian):

 

  1. Only one entry per Institution is
  2. Time for stage/instruments setting in maximum 5
  3. The number of accompanists would not be more than
  4. Duration of the songs shall be between 4 hours 6
  5. Only non-film songs /geet/gazal/bhajan/shabad and abhangas can be
  6. Judgment will be based on the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga, composition and general

 

  1. Western Vocal (Solo):

 

  1. Only one entry per Institution is
  2. Time for stage/instruments setting in maximum 5
  3. The number of accompanists would not be more than
  4. Duration of the songs shall be between 4 hours 6
  5. Language of the songs shall only be
  6. Judgment will be based on the qualities like Composition rhythm, co-ordination and general

 

  1. Group Song (Indian):
    1. Only one entry per Institution is
    2. A team has to present two songs, one patriotic and another will be a folk
    3. Maximum 6 singers in a group and number of accompanists playing instruments shall be three.
    4. The group songs should be taken from Indian songs which can be in regional
    5. No film songs should be presented as group
    6. Maximum time allowed for the group song is 10 minutes which does not include setting The setting time for a group shall not exceed 4 minutes.
    7. Judgment of this item’s will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make-up, costumes and actions of the
    8. Harmonized chord in folk song will not be g)Folk Song:
  2. Each college may send one
  3. Each participant will be allowed minimum 4 and maximum 6 minutes
  4. Traditional Folk song be presented without using harmonized

  1. Folk Orchestra:
    1. Each College can send only
    2. The team shall consist of up to 12
    3. The group can consist of all boys or all girls or
    4. The duration of the performance will be a minimum for 7 and a maximum for 10

 

 

  1. This does not include setting time which shall not be more than 5
  2. Up to three professional accompanists are allowed who should be in a different dress from the student participants so that they could be easily
  3. The professional accompanists shall sit/stand separately from the participants and shall not lead the
  4. The team may present preferably those folk tunes which are recognized as fold tunes of the state to which the University

 

  1. Group Song (Western)
    1. Only one entry per Institution is
    2. Maximum 6 singers in a group maximum number of accompanists playing instruments shall be
    3. The group songs should be taken from English
    4. Maximum time allowed for the group song is 10 minutes which does not include setting The setting time for a group shall not exceed 5 minutes.
    5. Judging of this items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make up, costumes and actions of the
